Youth Council member and We Write South Philly High playwright Thien To was featured on local television channel PhilyCAM (Comcast 66/966 and Verizon 29/30) as part of a program produced by PhillyCAM and Philly Youth Radio entitled “Teen Sanctuaries” about places teens like to go to destress or create. On Wednesday, February 1st, Youth Council member and Science Leadership Academy senior Gina Dukes attended the first meeting of the School Reform Commission’s Student Safety and Engagement Committee at the Philadelphia School District’s building on Broad Street. There, she performed a spoken-word piece that addressed the new committee’s main fields of interest: student safety and school violence. See this video of her performance here!
