Maryruth (MR) Stine is a performer and educator raised in Baltimore and Elmwood, West Virginia. MR’s principal focus is community-driven projects which combine elements of commedia dell’arte, puppetry, and mask to strike a balance of silly stories and social critique. After touring multiple shows from northern Canada to southern India, MR settled in Philly and has since been onstage with the Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, EgoPo Classic Theatre, the IRC, Hedgerow Theatre, and Little Fish Theatre, and in the classroom with Theatre Horizon, the Mantua Theatre Project, WolfPAC, and Philadelphia Young Playwrights (2015 Adele Magner Memorial Award co-recipient).
