Collaboration. Perseverance. Transformation.
For the first time, we are excited to invited students from the 2018-19 school year to self-nominate themselves for the Adele Magner Memorial Award (AMMA).
Adele Magner founded Philadelphia Young Playwrights in 1987, and after many years of exemplary leadership, lost her struggle with cancer. This award and honorarium, in honor of Adele’s memory, recognizes the work of an outstanding Young Playwrights team: a student, a teacher, and a teaching artist.
The award and honorarium is not just for a student but also for their classroom teacher and their Young Playwrights teaching artist. The criteria for this award reflect the three qualities which Adele admired the most: collaboration, transformation and perseverance. Please click the application link below to tell us about how your experience during your Young Playwrights classroom residency helped you grow in those three areas.
