This summer, students in grades 7 to 12 can join Young Playwrights from July 25th to July 29th for a week of playwriting support and exploration. During this program, our advanced playwrights will:
  • Come together from 10am – 4pm to get a jumpstart on their writing and/or revision process in a collaborative environment,
  • Work with theatre professionals to stage portions of their play
  • and learn about the best and latest in contemporary playmaking in order to try new things and be inspired.
At the end of the week, it is our hope that every playwright will feel confident that they have a piece of playwriting that they are ready to showcase. Advanced Playwriting has a flexible structure so that playwrights at any part of their playwriting process can benefit – all we ask is that you come on the first day with a play that you are ready to work on in a fun, supportive environment!

Participants must attend every day, Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm from July 25-29th.

Register Online, or fill out the application and return it via e-mail to programs@phillyyoungplaywrights.org, or by fax to 215-665-9228, Attn: Janine.

*Limited scholarships available. See the scholarship form for more details.
Don’t let the fee cause you to shy away from applying:
