Mae Early (also known as Mindy) is a writer, director, dramaturg, educator, and arts administrator. In addition to teaching over 1500 arts workshops in the Greater Philadelphia Area, she regularly facilitates professional development sessions for community professionals, teachers, teaching artists, and high school students. She is the curriculum developer and lead facilitator of the Bartol Foundation's Trauma-Informed Practice for Teaching Artists and Arts Administrators, and she has independently facilitated sessions around trauma-awareness and the arts for a myriad of organizations including the Philadelphia Music Alliance for Youth, Spiral Q, The Unscripted Project, the Wilma Theater, Dancing Classrooms Philly, Musicopia, the Kimmel Center, and more. In February 2021, she co-founded Whole HeART Teaching, an arts and education resource center which activates social-emotional and reflective learning throughout arts lessons to cultivate healing-centered, student-powered spaces.

As a theatre director and dramaturg, she has worked with numerous theatre companies large and small on productions and developmental readings. She focuses this work on new play development, largely in support of emerging artists and writers of all ages. Her blog, Create Communicate Connect, explores the writing process and provides resources and activities for writers of all skill levels. She has a B.A. in Drama from Washington College in Maryland, and she did graduate work in Theatre at Miami University of Ohio with a concentration in Directing. To date, she has completed 150 hours of trauma-informed training through the Lakeside Global Institute.
