Jason H.S Nadelbaum
Associate Director of Education and Programs
Contact: [email protected] Jason H.S. Nadelbaum has worked as a writing and theatre educator and organizer for over two decades. As a teenager, Jason was a member of the internationally recognized first two Philly Youth Poetry Slam Teams. He learned quickly the power of youth arts, and what can happen when students are given autonomy over their voices and opportunities to share. Jason's slam poetry organizing included co-organizing the Massachusetts Youth Poetry Slam Festival, and founding three different youth and college slam teams. Jason's teaching includes solo performance, college level intro to creative writing, middle school wrestling, storytelling as both a written and oral tradition, English as a learned language, and much more. He loves words, and helping use them for transformative liberation. He has worked as a teaching artist for PYP since fall 2019. Jason graduated from Brandeis University with Honors in Creative Writing, English, and Theatre, and received his MFA in Poetry from University of Massachusetts, Boston. He hopes to leave every place he enters a little better, a little fuller, a little more ready to be part of the world. He lives in Philly with his wife, their two cats, 6.5 bookshelves, and 1 megalodon tooth. |
