For over 29 years, principals and teachers have turned to Young Playwrights to provide our core program of classroom playwriting workshops. While the program is flexible to accommodate the needs and objectives of each school, our typical program:
- consists of 25 hours of classroom visits by our professional teaching artist- classroom visits by actors and other theatre professionals to bring students words to life and offer revision feedback and support - professional development services for the participating teacher - access to The Playwright Commons, our virtual hub for playwriting curriculum - facilitation of an in-school mini-festival- services of our Literary Committee for each student writer who submits a play to our Annual Playwriting Festival, giving them individualized feedback on their work.
