Meet Young Playwrights alumna Delia Raab-Snyder, whose experience in our program taught her things about herself that went far beyond the mechanics of writing a play. Delia has become an advocate for arts education and in her current role as Director of Tune Up Philly, is committed to provided enriching arts experiences for all children. Ultimately, Delia’s commitment to arts advocacy was informed by her time with Young Playwrights.

Board member and program alum Quiara Alegría Hudes was recently awarded the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama! She was awarded for her latest play Water By the Spoonful, which had its premiere run at the Hartford Stage in Hartford, Connecticut. Young Playwrights could not be more proud of her accomplishments, and we support all of our students in the pursuit of their dreams! The fourth annual collaboration between Philadelphia Young Playwrights and InterAct Theatre Company, this year’s Monologue Festival featured 17 monologues written by area high school students. The 2012 Young Voices Monologue Festival, presented by Young Playwrights and InterAct Theatre Company, took place from March 28-31 at the Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom Street.
